The design and layout of your garden should be suited to your lifestyle, and should allow you to get as much use and enjoyment out of your outdoor space as possible. No doubt you’ve taken the time to carefully consider the design of the inside of your house, realising that the look and feel has a huge impact on your home life. The garden is often referred to as ‘the room outside’, and has the potential to reflect and compliment your tastes and lifestyle in the same way your living room does.
We’ll work with you using our experience and creativity to get to the bottom of what you want from your garden. Whether you’re after a sophisticated space for entertaining, a relaxing oasis or a place for the whole family to enjoy together, we’ll take the time to listen and understand your individual needs in order to deliver the garden you really want.
There’ll no doubt be existing features in your garden that you’ll want to highlight (perhaps a tree or a great view) and equally things that you’ll want to conceal (the side of a neighbouring property or the area you use to house your recycling bin). We’ll make the best use of natural light, especially when considering lawn and planting, and introduce additional lighting where required to create ambience and draw attention to features after dark. Most successful gardens tend to work with the character of a property, not against it. We often pick out architectural details of the house to use in the scheme, be it a brick detail to match in a garden wall or a door frame width to determine the garden path dimensions. We strongly believe that good design will deliver you the best garden.
Good planting design is integral to a successful garden. As qualified and experienced horticulturalists, our garden designers are a fount of knowledge when it comes to selecting the perfect plants for your garden. We find that most people have a few personal favourites as well as a few personal pariahs! We’ll happily accommodate these wishes where possible and combine with our own ideas to develop the best scheme. From the outset of the garden design, the planting scheme can be well-conceived and an essential element of the project or it can be an optional add-on if you prefer.
