New Eden is a collaborative effort and our team mean the World to us. We’ve chosen them very carefully and are very proud of them all. They’re all personable, approachable, helpful, presentable and... some of them are a good laugh too!

If you would like to become a part of our team please see the ‘Gardening & Landscaping Jobs in Essex’ section of our website.

Richard Gosling
Managing Director & Senior Designer

Richard’s attitude and ethos are constant throughout every aspect of New Eden - quite simply, everything must be as good as it can be. This is evident in each member of staff and their dedication, the customer-focussed ‘can do’ attitude and the high standards maintained throughout every component of every finished garden. It’s also evident in New Eden’s reputation and brand perception, which is testament to Richard’s commitment to achieving his dream.

As the owner of a successful and quickly growing company, Richard has recognised the skills of his key staff and empowered them to take responsibility for their respective roles. This has enabled Richard to concentrate on what he does best... designing absolutely spectacular gardens!

His intense passion for every last detail of his well-considered designs ultimately enhances the functionality and beauty of his gardens. Listen to Richard speak about garden design and you’ll find his enthusiasm and excitement infectious.

Richard also enjoys the freedom he gets from his motorbike and relishes every opportunity to ride.

He ensures each team have all the resources they need on site to run their project as smoothly as possible, whilst also forming our direct connection between site and office.

Cheryl Smith
Accounts Clerk

With an extensive background in accounts and finance, along with an interest in gardens, Cheryl has a fantastic understanding of the intricacies of New Eden. She is also excellent at organising and maintaining our office systems enabling Richard and Ant to better utilise their time.

Paul Henry Lyons
Senior Foreman

Paul is an enthusiastic gardener and has been all his life. He loves nothing more than spending hours lovingly tending to his plants.

With a lifetime of experience comes great foresight, and now Paul has adopted a valuable role within New Eden. With a genuine desire to impart his wisdom and share his knowledge, Paul flits, like an agile little bird, amongst all of our teams, offering support and guidance, whenever and wherever it’s required.

Due to his supportive nature, Paul inherently commands the respect of the team and everyone knows that what they don’t know, Paul knows!

As a sideline Paul has been known to play a very jolly Santa at Christmas parties. He only charges two (maybe three) mince pies - please pay Paul directly on the day and book early to avoid disappointment!

Foremen

  • Our foremen are responsible for the day-to-day running of their site and the direct management of their teams. They are also your first point of contact during the build phase of your garden.

Paul, Grant and Ollie all have many years of hands-on experience as professional landscapers and skilled craftsmen.
It’s their role to ensure our garden builds run smoothly, tidily, in an orderly manner and with good steady progress.

In addition to their responsibilities our foremen are grafters and get their hands dirty too. They are very hands-on, but you’ll rarely catch them making the tea!

Garden Landscapers

  • Each of our garden landscapers have their own independent experience and are very capable craftsmen.

Our Garden Landscapers offer valuable support to their foremen and take responsibility for their own tasks throughout the build process.

New Eden is committed to the personal development of each of our staff members and all of our garden landscapers have a certificate of horticulture endorsed by the Royal Horticulture Society.

Labourers

  • Our labourers are carefully chosen for their desire to develop a career in landscaping... and for their punctuality!

Labourers are empowered to use their initiative to ensure a site runs as smoothly as possible, ensuring the foreman and landscapers have the tools and materials they need, when they need them, throughout the build process.
